CONCEPT & IDENTITY✨
'Anny's Not Tardy!' was concepted as an alternatively controlled game that uses a common controller in an unusual way. The idea to mash the keyboard cropped up quickly and turned into scurrying one's fingers around like ants. Inspired by magical girl anime and manga such as Cardcaptor Sakura, we decided to make a game about a magical girl whose powers revolve around ants. Our design is meant to capture the feeling of crawling around while using different keys to represent different ants. We also wanted to pay homage to our inspiration through our artwork and sound design, both of which take notes from anime styles.

yay this was fun! the control scheme was a little tricky to get a hang of at first but i thought it was a really neat concept once i understood it properly. also the ant magical girl is really cute! well done :D
Thank you!!! We are doing playtesting and have heard similar feedback elsewhere. We'd like to come back to the game and revamp our visual presentation to help communicate the control scheme a little bit better - but we're happy you enjoyed it!
